Macon firefighters scurry as ammo ignites

MACON, Ga. -- a police officer’s ammunition sent bullets flying in a Macon house fire early today.

Firefighters were called at about 4:20 a.m. to a house fire in a neighborhood that sits between Williamson Road and Eisenhower Parkway.

Crews on the scene reported “bullets flying everywhere” at the police officer’s home, but no one was hurt.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
