Missing elderly Appling woman found

    An elderly Appling woman who suffers from Alzheimer’s is reported missing

    Effie Lou Parks, who lives at 7161 Story Drive, was last seen by a neighbor on Terrace Drive around 8:10 a.m., according to a release by the Columbia County Emergency & Operations Division. Parks, 80, is 5 foot 6, 160 pounds.

    Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 9-1-1 or call (706) 541-2800.

    She has been located. She is fine. EMS checked her out and sent her home with her relatives.

    Yep Tots, happy news for a change. It is uplifting to see things that turn out good considering all the negative stuff we hear every day.

    Alzheimers is a terrible disease that I hope we find a preventive for some day. My heart goes out to anyone dealing with a family member who has it.
