Ga. woman attacked, tortured

LOVEJOY, Ga. — Police are searching for man they say tortured a woman for hours and nearly killed her in Lovejoy, just south of Atlanta.

WSB-TV reports that the woman remained hospitalized after what police describe as a severe beating in her home on Saturday.

Lovejoy police Sgt. Michael Gaddis said there was blood everywhere in the woman’s house when investigators arrived.

Gaddis said a frying pan with a large hole in the bottom is among evidence collected. Police believe it cracked after being repeatedly smashed on the woman’s head.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation developed a sketch of the suspect. It shows an “NY” tattoo on his neck and another tattoo of two tear drops coming out of his right eye.

Lovejoy is about 25 miles south of Atlanta.
