ATLANTA — Atlanta police say officers shot two men suspected of taking part in an early-morning home invasion.

Police say the home invasion and shootings took place shortly after 1:30 a.m. Friday in southwest Atlanta.

Atlanta police Capt. Adam Lee III tells CBS Atlanta that two suspects were shot by officers when police confronted them when they ran out the back of the home.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported one man was killed and police are now searching for at least two more suspects.

Lee said police responded to the home on Richland Road after a woman hiding in a closet called 911 and said someone had broken in.

Authorities said five other women were in the home at the time. None of them were injured.

Two down, two to go

The packs are getting larger.

And the UN would like to control American gun ownership, with the help of our ever-loyal, ever-aware liberals.

As Jethro would say,"Double Ought!!" I'm in agreement with you soapy. For sure who ever enters my home with intentions to harm me or mine will not be exiting my home the same way he came in. Note to self: Sharpen the cat's claws as they are the ADT of the house and are trained to attack unknown persons. When on high alert during the night if the cats hear an unusual noise they will forcefully pounce on me to wake me up. This has been proven again and again as the neighborhood I live in is deteriorating in a fast way. So much unfamiliar noise, beat boxes and people walking through your yard at night that the cat's aren't so comfortable at night either. They perch and they watch and they alert me to possible trouble and all for a can of fancy feast each day! Don't worry about the dog,"Beware of the Cat's", they will stick like velcro on your shiney hiney. And then it's my turn.

great shooting gentleman, please on your next and future calls please be safe, aim carefully and keep your powder dry. it's a shame you missed the other one but at least the taxpayers don't have to pay for the feeding, clothing, a place to sleep, and the cost of a trial for one of them, just the cost of a pauper's funeral. i am sure there's a cititrends in the atlanta area so his mom can go to purchase a "funeral outfit"...i think funeral outfits can be found in aisle 4

Cats are good like that. My husband once left toast cooking in a toaster oven. We were in our bedroom 80 feet away. The cats came running in to alert us before any damage was done.

If there is someone strange in the yard like a pest contol guy, they growl.
