Advance voting for the July 31 general primary and nonpartisan election begins today.
Richmond County voters may vote through July 27 at the Board of Elections Office, 530 Greene St., Room 104, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Hours will be extended the week before the primary until 6 p.m. daily.
Additional poll locations will be open July 23-27 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Voters may cast ballots at the elections office; Henry Brigham Recreation Center, 2463 Golden Camp Road; and Warren Road Recreation Center, 300 Warren Road.
Voters must have acceptable photo identification.
Acceptable forms of photo identification are a Georgia driver’s license (even if expired); a state or federal government-issued ID; an employee ID from any branch or entity of the U.S. government, county or any other entity of the state; a U.S. passport; a U.S. military photo ID; or a tribal photo ID.
A free voter photo ID card may be obtained from the Board of Elections office or the Georgia Department of Driver Services.
VOTE BY MAIL
To vote by mail, submit a written request to the Board of Elections by either mail or fax. The request must contain the voter’s name and address as registered, date of birth, date of election for which the ballot is being requested, and the voter’s party preference, if desired. The request must be signed.
Ballots will be accepted through July 27. Photo identification is not required to vote by mail.
