Augusta Salvation Army gets new area commanders

The Salvation Army of the Greater Augusta Area has new area commanders.

Capts. Tony and Vicki Perez are the new area commanders of the Salvation Army of the Greater Augusta Area.

Capts. Tony and Vicki Perez replace former administrators Capts. Todd and Wilma Mason as head of the Salvation Army in Augusta.

A reception will be held Friday at the Kroc Center to welcome the captains, along with two other new officers, Lt. Shauntrice Williams and Lt. Amber Morris.

The event is 2 to 4 p.m. in the Kroc Center Banquet Hall, 1833 Broad St., and is open to the public.
