Atlanta pickup crash send 11 people to hospitals

ATLANTA — Authorities say 11 people have been taken to hospitals after a pickup truck reportedly carrying 16 people crashed on the busy Downtown Connector, a stretch of freeway through the heart of Atlanta.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the crash occurred in the northbound lanes shortly before 11 a.m.

Georgia Department of Transportation officials say that 16 people were riding in the cab and bed of the truck.

Few other details were immediately available.
