The Army announced a change in command of the Signal Center of Excellence at Fort Gordon on Friday.

The current commander, Maj. Gen. Alan R. Lynn, is being assigned to the Army Network Enterprise Technology Command at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Taking his place at Fort Gordon is Brig. Gen. LaWarren Patterson, who was recommended by the U.S. Senate for a second star in May. Patterson is currently commanding general of the 7th Signal Command at Fort Gordon, but his previous assignment was also at Fort Huachuca as deputy commanding general.

Patterson’s vacancy will be filled by Brig. Gen. John B. Morrison Jr., current director of LandWarNet/Mission Command in Washington.

The announcements from the Army Chief of Staff’s General Officer Management Office do not say when the commands will change.
