An Augusta truck driver died on Interstate 26 in South Carolina after he ran off the road and hit several trees Thursday.

Clyde Bennett, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene after running his 1996 Freightliner into a wooded area in the median around mile marker 119 near Summerville, S.C., about 4 p.m., said Bill Salisbury, the Berkeley County coroner.

Authorities said Bennett was wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

That or maybe he fell asleep.

That or maybe he fell asleep. This name sounds familiar. I hope it's not someone I know. Prayers for his family.
