LITHONIA, Ga. -- More than four hours after the confrontation began, the second of two alleged DeKalb County Waffle House robbers was in custody Tuesday night.

DeKalb County police spent much of the afternoon and evening attempting to corral the second suspect in a standoff that began shortly after 3 p.m. at the Waffle House near I-20 and Evans Mill Road, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

One suspect was quickly taken into custody after an alleged robbery at the restaurant, according to Lt. Pamela Kunz with DeKalb County police. But the other suspect fled to a nearby parking lot.

The man was armed with a handgun and held off a SWAT team and other police officers who were called to the scene.
