Richmond County authorities are searching for the person who stole $25 in donations from the Herbert’s Institute of Art over the weekend.

The administrative manager called deputies to the location at 506 Telfair Street early Monday after discovering the business had been burglarized some time since 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

According to an incident report, the lock to the front door of the business was broken and $25 was missing from a box used to collect donations.

It is the Gertrude Herbert

It is the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art. Not "Herbert's Institute of Art". A great organization that does lots of great things for the community while running on a shoe string budget.

In the past few months, they've had the copper stolen out of the A/C units and now this. Augusta has to do something about the crime.

If the sheriff did nothing

If the sheriff did nothing about $25,000 stolen from city hall, they certainly will do nothing about this $25 stolen from Gertrude Herbert.
