NORCROSS, Ga. — Students are mourning the loss of a classmate killed in a deadly crash as a group headed to a party after their school’s prom dance outside Atlanta.

The Gwinnett Daily Post reports that Johlonda Lindsey, a member of the Meadowcreek High School track team, died in the accident early Sunday in Gwinnett County. Police say three other students were injured as the group headed to a party after the prom.

About 200 students, faculty and members of the community gathered at the high school in Norcross on Sunday. Others left memorials near the accident scene on Steve Reynolds Boulevard.

Police say they were still investigating circumstances of the wreck.

I read that she did not

I read that she did not attend the prom, but was going to the post prom party with others who had attended the prom. Police believe speed and racing was the cause, and she was not buckled up.
