Handful of Augusta homes without power

A tree fell onto a power line leaving 26 Augusta homes without power Wednesday night, according to Georgia Power and the Richmond County Fire Department.

The tree was on Lake Avenue and fell onto a power line, catching one of the tree’s limbs on fire.

Jim Barber with Georgia Power said there is no estimate yet on when the homes will get power back.
