The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a frost advisory for Friday morning.

It will be the second day in a row a frost advisory was issued for the area. Meteorologists said the frost is a result of a cold front moving through the area.

The Augusta area experienced slightly cooler weather Thursday when temperatures stayed in the mid-60s.

The cool weather will continue into the evening and early morning as lows fall into the 30s. The frost advisory will be in effect from 5-9 a.m.

Temperatures are expected to increase gradually throughout the weekend from highs in the 70s on Friday to highs in the mid-80s on Sunday.
