Georgia forestry officials warned of continuing elevated wildfire danger Wednesday across north and central Georgia, including the Augusta area.

North to northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph on Wednesday morning will increase to around 15 mph in the afternoon with some gusts up to near 20 mph.

The combination of gusty winds and low relative humidity will combine with already low fuel moisture levels, resulting in increased fire danger in all area counties.
