Who attacked Georgia Marine?

Serviceman, 34, found in parking lot outside party

SMYRNA, Ga. — Police north of Atlanta are continuing to investigate a beating that left a U.S. Marine from metro Atlanta with a severe head injury.

Authorities say 34-year-old Zach Gamble of Acworth was critically injured March 25 after a disagreement at a party in a Smyrna apartment complex. He was found lying in a parking lot with a severe head injury. His mother, Tina Robbins, describes his condition as “grave.”

Cobb County police Sgt. Dana Pierce tells The Marietta Daily Journal that it’s a very difficult case to investigate with no leads. Pierce said investigators have talked to as many people who were at the party as they could, but their leads have fallen through and they’re hoping for tips from Crime Stoppers.

Gamble is being treated at WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
