Man arrested after found sleeping on Broad Street

A 49-year-old homeless man was booked on charges of disorderly conduct after he was found sleeping on Broad Street this morning.


According to an incident report, a Richmond County deputy woke Clark David Rabun on the 500 block of Broad Street around 2:45 a.m. and instructed him to find another place to sleep.

Police said the man, who smelled strongly of alcohol, argued with the officer before grabbing his belongings, walking down the street and urinating on the sidewalk.

When the officer again approach, Rabun began yelling and attempted to strike the officer, the report said.

The officer subdued Rabun with OC spray and put him on the ground.

Rabun was transported to Medical College of Georgia for a laceration to the head that he received during the tussle and then booked into the Richmond County Jail.
