PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. — Authorities say two gun-wielding men tried to hijack a golf cart over the weekend in Peachtree City south of Atlanta.

The attack happened shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday on one of the community’s 90 miles of golf cart paths.

Police tell The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the golf cart was on a path near the Concord Village Apartments when the two men, dressed all in black and both armed with guns, approached the occupants.

Police said the suspects demanded the victims’ property and the key to their golf cart. The men didn’t take the cart, but ran away toward a shopping center.

There were no reports of any injuries.

Peachtree City is known for its golf carts, and its paths are designated for an estimated 12,000 carts.
