After severe storms ripped through the area yesterday afternoon leaving about 11,000 Georgia Power customers, 2,978  SCE&G customers in Aiken County and about 1,400 Jefferson Electric customers without power, most of the area was restored this morning.

A spokesman for Georgia Power said there were still 36 Augusta customers without power at 11 a.m. They planned to have everyone back up by 1 p.m.

According to SCE&G's Web site, only two homes in Aiken County are still without power as of 11 a.m.

Ullmer Bridges, a spokesman for Jefferson Electric, said they had everyone's power restored by 2 a.m.
