A Burke County man died Thursday when he struck another vehicle while speeding on his motorcycle, authorities said.

Rodney Snipes, 36, was driving his motorcycle at high speed when he hit a car driven by Christopher Jeffers, also of Burke County, said Burke County Deputy Coroner Susan Salemi.

The accident occurred at 4:14 p.m. on Hephzibah-Keysville Road near Jay Drive. Snipes was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital, where he died shortly after, Salemi said.
