Pedestrian hit crossing Peach Orchard Road has died

A woman hit while crossing Peach Orchard Road on Sunday has died.

Stephanie Amerson was taken to Medical College of Georgia Hospital after she was hit by a Honda Accord around 7:45 p.m. while crossing from Bob’s One Stop convenience store to Flynn’s Inn Camping Village.

Coroner Grover Tuten confirmed Wednesday that Amerson had died.

Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said Amerson was ruled at fault in the accident. Charges will not be filed against the driver.
