Wintertime weather is on the way to the Augusta area. Temperatures will fall steadily over the next four days with below-freezing temperatures, possibly as low as the mid-20s, forecast for Saturday and Sunday nights, said Bruce Cherry, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Columbia.

High temperatures on Thursday and Friday will slowly climb into the uppers 50s and lower 60s. Temperatures on Saturday will fall back into the 50s as the area prepares for the coldest day in the outlook on Sunday, with a high temperature in the lower 50s or colder.

There will be some clouds in the sky, but no rain is expected.
