A North Augusta home was damaged this morning after a fire started around 9:50 a.m.
Jay Smith, assistant chief of the Belvedere Fire Department, said fire crews arrived at the residence at 105 Bartlett Lane to find smoke coming out of one of the rear downstairs windows.
Firefighters from Belvedere and North Augusta were able to maintain the fire but not before it damaged the kitchen and living room.
“(The damage) is pretty extensive in those rooms,” Smith said.
No one was inside the residence at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
