A 13-year-old boy is in critical condition at Medical College of Georgia Hospital Tuesday night after being struck by a truck at the intersection of Peach Orchard and Windsor Spring roads, police said.

It appears the youth ran out into traffic about 7:15 p.m., and the driver of the truck tried to avoid him but was unable to, Richmond County sheriff’s Capt. Scott Gay said.
