Man reports carjacking, assault

Richmond County authorities are investigating a report of an armed robbery and carjacking Saturday evening.

According to Sgt. Dan Carrier, the victim, identified as 40-year-old Terry Calton, was forced inside his vehicle at a gas station at Olive Road and Gordon Highway by four unknown black males with handguns.

Calton told officers the men made him drive to Apple Valley where they forced him from the vehicle, took his wallet and cell phone, and pistol whipped him.

Calton was transported to the hospital with injuries.
