Break-in at Verizon tower station

Richmond County authorities were called to a Verizon Wireless cell tower early this morning after reports that someone had broken through the security fence.

According to an incident report, officers were called to the tower on the 2200 block of Tobacco Road around 3 a.m. where someone had cut through the barbed wire fence surrounding the tower and had broken into a tool shed.

A company representative told officers he was unsure if anything was missing from the shed.
