Shooting in Burnettown injures 1

One person was injured in a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Burnettown, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

The shooting was reported at 5 p.m. on Huber Clay Road. According to the sheriff’s office, there is a person of interest but no suspects yet.

The victim was taken to the emergency room, and the extent of injuries is still unknown.

A name, age and description of the suspect were available (and broadcast to residents in a 3 mile radius by Aiken County's CodeRED alerting system) by 6:50 PM. The suspect was apprehended by around 7:15 PM. This story was published at 7:30 PM with absolutely none of that information. Come on, AC...
