A 50-year-old Augusta man notified authorities Saturday evening after he was robbed and shot in the cheek by several teenagers.

The victim told Richmond County deputies he was walking on the 1900 block of Bleakley Street around 10 p.m. when he was approached by four teens who demanded his belongings at gunpoint.

The victim pulled out a knife but was shot in the right cheek by what could have been a BB gun or a small air gun. According to an incident report, no blood was present and only the top layer of skin was broken.

The teens fled the scene, police said.
