Arrest follows North Augusta assault

NORTH AUGUSTA -- A North Augusta woman was arrested and charged with assault and battery after police said she entered another woman’s home and attacked her Saturday evening.

According to a North Augusta Public Safety report, Shatavia L. Head, 31, was arrested after she entered home of Sharifa Green on Belgium Circle through an unlocked door and began an argument with Tanya Trim, 40, who was visiting the residence.

Trim told police that Head attacked her, punching her repeatedly in the face. Green told police that at some point in the fight Head grabbed a knife. Green said she was cut on her hand while trying to pull the 180-pound woman off of Trim.

Public Safety Officer Jason Ramey called Head and asked her to return to the scene, where she was arrested after being questioned. Green was taken to University Hospital to treat a laceration on her hand.
