ATLANTA — Thousands are expected tonight in downtown Atlanta for the annual Peach Drop celebration, the Chick-fil-A Bowl game and a concert.

Police say they are anticipating more than 180,000 people in the city’s downtown for New Year’s Eve. Authorities are planning to monitor the massive crowds using a new video center that can access thousands of public and private security cameras in the city.

The events include a 12:30 p.m. parade that ends near the Georgia Dome, where the bowl game is expected to kick off at 7:30 p.m. The game is between Auburn and Virginia.

Just down the street, the Zac Brown Band will play a concert at Philips Arena starting at 8 p.m.
