An Augusta man notified deputies after he was beaten with a baseball bat during a robbery Monday evening.

According to an incident report, Charles Paulk, 38, was walking through the Mars Trailer Park on the 3600 block of Deans Bridge Road to a nearby convenience station around 10 p.m. when he was approached by three men in ski masks who asked him for a cigarette.

Paulk told officers the men then knocked him to the ground with a baseball bat and continue to beat and kick him while they took his money.

The victim received stitches in a cut on his lip.

Similar incidents happened to

Similar incidents happened to someone I know not far from there; he finally gave up and moved to a state that he has ridden through a couple of hurricanes in before, saying he preferred hurricanes to living on Deans Bridge Road.

That trailer park has really

That trailer park has really gone down the tubes since the previous owner sold it. The new owner lives in Florida and they are letting their investment go down the tubes. Thirty years ago it was clean and well-run; now it is full of thugs and many trailers have their doors busted off and windows smashed. Shows what you get when you don't keep out the low lifes.

In a perfect world a person

In a perfect world a person should be able to take a walk at 10:00 p.m. or at midnight or at 2:00 a.m. But we don't live in a perfect world, so we must bolt our doors and hide after dark.

My kin lived on Morgan Rd.

My kin lived on Morgan Rd. many years ago....(near this) The only thing going on then was a little moonshine making in the woods .....bird dogs howling & country folks.....oh how things have changed in 30906...& yeah.....back then you could walk all over that area & feel safe.....& they all had guns & hunted with them.
They were the Morgans on Morgan Rd.
They built some of the houses still standing there.

They were just poor country folks----but they didn't kill rob & steal.

seeitB4 is right. The

seeitB4 is right. The Morgans, Chavouses, and a few others were just simple farm folk. The Chavous family sold eggs around the area back when Morgan Rd. and Mars Trailer Park were not paved.
