Salvation Army seeks donations for young girls

The Salvation Army is asking for donations for young girls as part of their Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program.

According to a news release, toy and clothing donations for girls ages 3 to 9 have been lacking this year while donations for boys are on target.

The Angel Tree Christmas Assistance Program provides toys for more than 2,300 needy local children 12 and under. Items will be distributed this year Dec. 20.

Donations can be dropped off at The Salvation Army of Augusta’s Center of Hope, 1384 Greene St.; The Kroc Center, 1866 Broad St.; or a family thrift store, located at 1507 North Leg Road, 1803 Knox Ave., in North Augusta, or 910 Augusta Highway in Thomson.
