McINTYRE, Ga. — A woman killed when her car was struck by a train in the central Georgia town of McIntyre has been identified as 76-year-old Viola Carswell of Irwinton.

The Telegraph of Macon reports that Carswell was driving on Main Street in her 1993 Honda Accord when a train collided with the vehicle around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

Georgia State Patrol officials said Carswell avoided the lowered railroad crossing arms just before the wreck.
