Authorities: Autopsy shows missing Georgia girl was beaten, stabbed and sexually assaulted

CANTON, Ga. — Authorities say autopsy results show that a missing Georgia girl whose body was found in a trash container was beaten, stabbed and sexually assaulted.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation Director Vernon Keenan released the autopsy results at a news conference this morning in the north Georgia town of Canton, where 7-year-old Jorelys Rivera's body had been found.

Police say Jorelys was last seen around 5 p.m. Friday at the River Ridge apartments in Canton, about 40 miles north of Atlanta.

Keenan called the crime a "very horrific and brutal murder." No suspects are in custody.
