BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. — A Lexington County man has been arrested and accused of stabbing his nephew to death.

Forty-two-year-old Juan Perez-Jeronimo of Batesburg-Leesville is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held pending a review by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Coroner Harry Harman says Diego Alonzo died early Sunday from blood loss after being stabbed in the leg. Deputies found Alonzo on a bed in the home.

Perez-Jeronimo was arrested in woods behind the house after a search by a K-9 unit.

Investigators say the Guatemalan men were fighting about money.
