Authorities arrested two men Thursday suspected of robbing at gunpoint three people during a home invasion this week in Evans.

Finas Aaron Goodwin III, 17, and Scott LaMont Farley Jr., 18, both of Evans, were charged with armed robbery. Farley, who lived in the same Westwood Club apartment complex as the victims, also was charged with two more counts of armed robbery, three counts of possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime and a count of burglary.

Two men in their early 20s and a 19-year-old woman told Columbia County sheriff’s deputies that two men forced their way into their home about 3 p.m. Tuesday on the 200 block of Lariat Circle.

All three were forced to lie on the floor while the robbers took cellphones, an iPad, an X-Box and cash. Then, they ran from the home, according to a sheriff’s office report.

Goodwin and Farley are being held in the Columbia County Detention Center with no bond set.

Start getting those tent

Start getting those tent cities ready - sledge hammers and high barbed wire fences - never mind the fancy orange jump suits - put them in pink, so they can be seen from a long way off. And then we need a judge that knows what he/she should do! Merry Christmas!

Income reduced apartments?

Income reduced apartments? And now this happens? People in that area do not want to be around a place like this? Can't say I blame them. I enjoy being and feeling safe. It's a very nice feeling. What are we supose to think about this? It's not a good thing. Not at all.

Probably be reading about

Probably be reading about these two committing another random act of violence two or three months from now. After they are bonded out and given ridiculously light sentences....Just wait and see....

Disregard previous post.

Disregard previous post. Westwood apts. are next to Academy Sports in Evans, not Sports Authority. Yes, that low income housing that contributes to the Columbia County community, just ask Chairman Ron Cross.

This is why people don't want

This is why people don't want those 50 HUD homes built in Columbia County, they know when they do that the crime wave is coming even faster. Eventually and probably not in my lifetime but Columbia County will recycle itself just like the south side of Augusta did. That is why I am moving to a nice tropical island as soon as I retire....

We go to school all our lives

We go to school all our lives and told we can do anything we put our minds to. Those of us that do, go on and get good jobs and make a decent wage, only to be punished through taxation to assist people that do not do the right thing. Those apartments are nicer than anywhere I lived the first 5 years I was out of college. I firmly believe these types of places are funded and built to buy votes from the poor and uneducated. Then they become complacent and never attempt to elevate themselves enough to be fully self-sufficient. In other words, there is reward in failure and penalty in success.

@LemonJello. Well put. These

@LemonJello. Well put. These houses in Magnolia Trace are 130K houses. How would you like to pay 900 dollars a month for a house, that a low income individual is paying half for the same house. What happened to living with what you can afford?

Westwood Club teens who don't

Westwood Club teens who don't go to prison go to Evans High which is the only school that didn't make AYP. Coincidence or something else?

Maybe we should consider a change in some county commissioners!

To be fair to Evans, the

To be fair to Evans, the school has made AYP more times than Harlem.. Grovetown hasn't been around long enough to judge yet..

It's also harder for Evans to improve every year(AYP) compared to Harlem..

I see one incident is causing

I see one incident is causing the privilege folks to criticize everyone not in their income bracket. There are just as many crimes happening in those more expensive neighborhoods as well. They may not be robbing someone at gun point, but they could be molesting a child, using cocaine, housing illegals, have illegals work for them, etc. A crime is a crime. So stop making yourself feel good by talking down someone else. The more serious crimes committed in Columbia County are not by low income folks, they are by the so called hard working more privileged folks like yourself.

RunningMan: Housing illegals,

RunningMan: Housing illegals, employing illegals, using cocanine does not even begin to compare with armed robbery. I'll take on an illegal alien long before I'll take on an armed illegal alien. All crimes are not created equal. Really - "privileged folks" are more dangerous than armed bandits? Excuse me while I threaten you with my 3 carat diamond ring.....or would you rather have the thug with the gun threaten you?

Runningman: Where is the proof to your claim? Using Cocaine? As long as you are productive, pay your taxes, and don't sap the gov't welfare system, why would I care if you use drugs in the confines of your own property? Armed Robbery on the other hand not only threatens the theft of material items but more important, the peace of mind of you and your family.

As I look at the current

As I look at the current folks in Columbia County jails making the news, all I see are the more well to do folks that simply was not satisfied they were in a better position than most. If it make you feel better to talk down to those with a lower income than you, go ahead, but the majority of those folks are working just as hard than those with higher incomes. The biggest different is their education levels does not provide them with opportunities to get the better paying jobs.

Where is my affordable BMW.

Where is my affordable BMW. I can't afford the payments so I should be subsidized for the difference. Everything I have is based on what I can afford. Runningman your throwing in a strawman to try and make a point that does not exist is rediculous.

Columbia County is now

Columbia County is now getting a taste of what Richmond County has had to put up with for many many years. As the projects are torn down and not replaced the freeloaders are given vouchers and move out among everyone else. I wonder what the population thought when Cherry Tree, Olmstead Holmes, Jennings Manor and the like were built. Thank goodness I do not have to live like they do.

Some of you make it seem like

Some of you make it seem like you have not gotten support from someone as you moved up. None of us did it by ourselves. I use to be low income as well and spent most of my childhood living in the projects, so I know first hand what that it is like. So for the past 30+ years I have worked harder to do better for my family. With the help of God, I feel, I have finally gotten there as far as our income is concerned, however, I know others are still struggling to make it. But I not dare look down on them because their income is lower. Some of us are so busy looking forward we forget how we got there. Not all low income folks are there because they want to be, and eventually approximately 30% of them will improve their income status. It just takes time and opportunities. Remember, you didn't get there over night either.

runningman...You know what

runningman...You know what ..we could compare childhoods & I bet I could give you tit for tat on poor raisings....my parents had very little---we ate veggies from garden--our lunch was usually sweet potatos --cornbread-peas....many many days...meat was a luxury....7kids to feed...what irks me is that you call looking down on others...so wrong in your thinking....many on here didn't come from luxury ....we had to WORK foreverything we have----my parents didn't get food stamps-housing help-unemployment---NONE of that existed (in their world) but guess what...we didn't streal-rob-kill to get it either...

The help we had came from the end of our elbows---WE WORKED FOR IT!

That's my point, we all had

That's my point, we all had to start below where we are today. We did not just win the lottery and become rich. It takes time to move from the low income to higher income bracket, and everyone in lower income bracket are not bad folks, so stop talking down to them, because at one point you were one of them yourself.
