FLORENCE, S.C. — A bluegrass band from Georgia had most of its equipment stolen in South Carolina, but managed to keep the show rolling with borrowed instruments.

The Morning News of Florence reported that the Marksmen of Murrayville, Ga., were headed to Myrtle Beach for bluegrass festival and had stopped for the night at a Florence hotel when a van and trailer were taken early Saturday.

The van was found in Berkeley County but the trailer and its $20,000 of equipment were gone. Marksmen leader Earle Wheeler says the band lost its costumes and several guitars.

The band went on to Myrtle Beach and performed at the festival using borrowed equipment. Wheeler said the show went extremely well.
