STATESBORO, Ga. | Law officers are searching for suspects after a UPS pilot reported being flashed by a green laser beam shot toward his plane as it headed toward the airport in Statesboro.

The Statesboro Herald reports that Bulloch County sheriff's reports also indicate that an Air Evac helicopter pilot recently reported a similar incident.

Bulloch County Sheriff Lynn Anderson said both incidents occurred near the Ogeechee River east of Statesboro. It was not immediately clear when the lasers were shot at the aircraft.

Earlier this month, law officers searched for the source of a laser beam after a Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport official reported Nov. 12 that someone aimed it into the cockpit of an airplane passing over northwest Georgia.
