Ga. nail salon brawl injures teen

  • Follow Latest News

SNELLVILLE, Ga. — A teenage girl’s teeth were shattered when a large porcelain bowl struck her in the face during a brawl inside a suburban Atlanta nail salon that may have been touched off by a dispute over pricing.

Gail Dudley tells WSB-TV that her 17-year-old daughter Ashley Corbett was waiting to have her nails done when others began fighting in the Regal Nails inside a Walmart store in Snellville on Monday night. Someone threw a bowl used by customers to soak their nails, and it shattered as it struck the girl in her face.

According to the girl and her mother, the incident started when a woman came in and complained about the prices.

Dudley says her daughter, who was treated at a hospital, was an innocent bystander. Police are investigating.

All this could have been

All this could have been avoided if the Imperial Federal Government would just give out vouchers for free services at nail salons. Then the price wouldn't matter. We have Obama phones, we need Obama nails.

Oh, another "Bush lied" thing, huh? Well, Obama hasn't upheld his end of the bargain, either. Remember his campaign promise?

There are no "Obama" phones,

There are no "Obama" phones, it's another rightwing myth/smear/lie. The legislation was passed long ago; the specific provision to provide low income people with cell phones was added by Bush.

[Republican crypto-slogan: “No lie too big, no smear too small.”]

“The Obama Phone?

Q: Has the Obama administration started a program to use "taxpayer money" to give free cell phones to welfare recipients?

A: No. Low-income households have been eligible for discounted telephone service for more than a decade. But the program is funded by telecom companies, not by taxes, and the president has nothing to do with it.”

“This specific program, SafeLink, started under President George Bush, with grants from an independent company created under President Bill Clinton, which was a legacy of an act passed under President Franklin Roosevelt, which was influenced by an agreement reached between telecommunications companies and the administration of President Woodrow Wilson.

Wilson Phones, anyone?”

From your article: The

From your article: The companies often charge customers to fund their contributions in the form of a universal service fee you might see on your monthly phone bill. The fund is then parceled out to companies, such as América Móvil, that create programs, such as SafeLink, to provide telecommunications service to rural areas and low-income households.

BJ, I don't care if you call it a fee or a tax, we customers have no choice. The money is taken from us and transferred to others.

Why does it seem like almost

Why does it seem like almost every story ppl comment on turns political? Why does almost every article related to African-Americans always end up discussing welfare and the "entitlement" crowd? All I see is some idiots got into a fight at a salon and a young lady was injured. Where can you extract any political referendums from this?

These questions are not rhetorical...

BJ, I busted that myth once

BJ, I busted that myth once on here, Cassandra did again, and now you. Wonder how long it will be before we hear Obamaphone again? I just don't get it; there is a mountain of factual material out there to criticize him on; why make up stuff which then diminishes the credibility of other legit criticisms?
I am a conservative, but count me out of the crowd who sling pooh just to be slinging something. The facts and truth are quite adequate to sink him if that is your goal.

This article demands

This article demands comments. So much importance on nails! Not even building nails, but fingernails.
Good gracious, people. Don't you see how outrageous this is?
Folks that don't even work place a priority on manicures, pedicures.
I know that for a fact...I am friends with a couple of them.

"Obamaphone" started because

"Obamaphone" started because a woman in an interview said it was her Obama phone..so the joke lives on. The woman got it free, Obama was president, anything good has to be from Obama, or so they think. If you tell them Obama didn't give it to them, Bush did, you might be the one missing some front teeth...
In other words, a free phone is an Obama phone.

Allhans: “In other words, a free phone is an Obama phone.”

Jesse Jackson said” “Keep hope alive.”

Republicans say: “Keep Smears Alive.”

The fact that it is a zombie lie (comes back to life and gets repeated by Republicans, despite the fact they know it is not true) only proves to me that Republicans are morally and intellectually corrupt. Not in an ordinary way but in a “to the core of their being” way; Obama phones, Birth Certificate, Swiftboating, tell any lie it takes to win kind of way. Their ideas will not stand alone in a one-on-one policy debate in the arena of democracy, they need smear, they live by smear and they cry like a stuck pig when their guy is at the other end (re: Herman Cain) of the pig sticker.

They decry the “politics of personal destruction” while they practice it with reckless abandon. When they speak of “taking personal responsibility”, get ready because they are about to take NO responsibility WHATSOEVER, for ANYTHING any of their guys did or they will claim he wasn’t really one of their guys (classic “no true Scotsman” fallacy alert) in the first place.

They need Willy Horton to win because they can’t win any other way.

[Republican crypto-slogan: “No lie too big, no smear too small.”]

Augusta citizen - animals

Augusta citizen - animals don't throw bowls, they are more civilized than that.
As for the rest of the comments - isn't it nice to always get a chance to turn everything into a political free for all? The idiots were mad at each other - let them fight it out and keep politics and all else out of it. OK?
