A 20-year-old North Augusta man was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound after being robbed Sunday evening.

According to an incident report, North Augusta authorities were called to University Hospital after the victim told Richmond County deputies he had been shot in the ankle near Austin Street and Crestlyn Drive.

The victim, identified as Alan Michael Bargeron, told officers he had been walking in the area around 8:30 p.m. when four to five men in their early 20s came up behind him and robbed him of his jacket, cell phone and $40. Police said the victim broke away and was shot in the ankle while fleeing.

Bargeron told officer he did not wish to file a report or have the incident investigated.

The victim also had active felony warrants from South Carolina Probation and Paroles.

C'mon AC, was that last line

C'mon AC, was that last line even necessary? So what the victim had active felony warrants. Does that exclude him from being able to walk the streets without being shot?

blakkone....It doesn't mean

blakkone....It doesn't mean he should get shot, but NO he shouldn't have been able to walk the streets. Obviously he has done something for them to have a felony warrant out on him. So pray he heals but then you know where he is headed after that. Probably why he didn't want to file a report or have an investigation.

"Bargeron told officer he did

"Bargeron told officer he did not wish to file a report or have the incident investigated."

I have a feeling that the part about his active warrants has less to do with him not wanting to file a report, and more to do with who he was mixed up with that robbed him. Bet he knows exactly who it was.

One of the local Bargeron's

One of the local Bargeron's was kidnapped from Augusta, ended up near Atlanta stabbed to death. The family has money and the mom was a Judge so the police won't arrest her son that brags he did it. We turned the evidence and and the witness over to the FBI who gave it back to bought and paid for county cops near Atlanta who work for the mom... Politics. Hope this one does better.
