Macon grandmother shot while picking up kids

MACON, Ga. -- A Macon woman was shot early Saturday as she drove to pick up her grandchildren from a skating rink, near where males were firing guns into the air, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office said.

According to The Macon Telegraph, one of her grandchildren had to tell her that she was bleeding. Sheriff’s investigators believe a bullet fired high into the air returned through the windshield to graze the abdomen of Carol Morris, 64. She picked up the children, started driving east, discovered she was wounded, and pulled the car over to call for help.

Morris was taken to a hospital and was listed in stable condition.

Hey, why shouldn't people be

Hey, why shouldn't people be able to fire guns in the air whenever they feel like it?

Thank God that she and those children weren't killed.

We aren't allowed to talk about guns in school, because of a very few disturbed children that have used them in a school.

Which is absurd.

But this NEEDS to be discussed, and discussed often. Children are not getting the proper message about how lethal guns are. They look at their peeps and homies- who are all knuckleheads themselves- and think that guns are cool.

Guns KILL. They are only to be used for hunting and in extreme circumstances to defend life, not used as toys.

Sad.

I know what happens when

I know what happens when teens get guns. The only good thing that came out of it was I have a wonderful little boy in my home since he was 3 yrs old. He's now 3 yrs. old. He was in the home when his father was gunned down. I get a knot in my gut everytime I hear of another shooting or home invasion.
