Two locations in the Augusta area have been included in federal housing assistance grant awards announced Wednesday.

In Augusta, more than $1.4 million will be used toward the construction of 12 two-bedroom units for people with disabilities, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The location of the units was not provided.

In Harlem, more than $800,000 will be used to build eight one-bedroom units for elderly with low income.

More than 41 states and Puerto Rico will benefit from the $749 million grant awarded under HUD’s Section 201 and 811 Supportive Housing Programs.
