NORTH AUGUSTA -- An armed robbery suspect is in custody in North Augusta for an October robbery at Zaxby’s.

According to a news release, a man handed an employee at the restaurant on Knox Avenue a note around 9:30 p.m. Oct. 22 that said, “Armed and Dangerous! Don’t hesitate! I want $3,000. Any false move everyone dies!”

The bandit, later identified as 24-year-old Marquis Shannon Lane, of Warrenville, then grabbed money from the register and safe and ran away.

Lane was located by the Burnettown Police Department Monday and was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

He is being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.

Anybody else catch this on

Anybody else catch this on Fox 54 news last night (Tuesday night)? Both times they reported the story they kept saying the holdup happened this past Saturday. Guess it would help their accuracty if their newscast was done in Augusta and not Savannah...

Bdouglas, I kind of like Fox

Bdouglas, I kind of like Fox 54 news being done in Savannah, but trying to make like it's done locally in a bizzare, Twilight Zone way. I've looked at it just to see what it would be like. It's interesting to watch their techniques to appear to be in Augusta when we know they aren't.

Rod Serling would have made a story out of it... the newspeople got off work and walked outside and were suddenly, really in Augusta.

At least they got Martinez

At least they got Martinez right and not Mar-tee-nez. I never heard it if they did, anyway.
