A 75-year-old man died after being hit by a tractor trailer in Edgefield County late Sunday evening.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Elva Petterson, of Graniteville, was traveling eastbound on Ridge Road in a 1997 Ford Explorer around 11 p.m. when he ran a stop sign and was hit by a truck traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 25.
