A morning of Veterans Day events are about to begin at the Georgia War Veterans Home, across from the downtown hospitals on 15th Street.

The first ceremony includes remarks from Command Sgt. Major Ronald S. Pflieger.

A parade on Broad Street follows, with the grandstand in its usual spot between 7th and 8th streets, across from The Augusta Chronicle building.

Another ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. at the Monument of All Wars with remarks by Major General Alan Lynn, who will also serve today at the grand marshal of the parade.

A final ceremony is at 1 p.m. on the Heroes’ Overlook, 10th and Levee Streets on the Riverwalk in downtown Augusta.
