An E-Z-Go truck driver has been charged with theft by receiving after a golf cart in his possession disappeared during a July shipment.

John Allie Parker, 46, of Harlem, told authorities the cart was never on his truck for delivery; however, he admitted to obtaining a cart from a former E-Z-Go employee and trading it to a South Carolina man for $300 and a 2002 Dodge Neon. The cart was then sold again by the next owner, police said. The company has not regained ownership of the cart at this time.

Parker was arrested on Oct. 17 and charged with theft by receiving.
