Construction continues on eastbound Interstate 20 while the Georgia Department of Transportation works to repair a damaged guardrail over the Augusta Canal.

Traffic is reduced to one lane at the site where a Bainbridge, Ga., truck driver fatally crashed his rig into the canal Sept. 2.

The construction will be suspended from Friday through the weekend and resume Monday, according to a spokeswoman.

Crews estimate the work will be complete sometime Monday.
