Dwayne Wilson, a 31-year veteran of Fluor, one of the partners involved in SRNS, will take over as the CEO and president. He has served as the group president overseeing the company’s Mining and Metals and Manufacturing and Life Sciences business lines.

Garry Flowers, who has served as the president and CEO of SRNS for the past two years, will return to Fluor’s corporate offices in Dallas as a member of its executive leadership team.

Under Flowers’ leadership, SRNS successfully executed $1.4 billion in expedited projects funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act for SRS legacy waste cleanup; recruited and named a world-class national laboratory director for the Savannah River National Laboratory; forged a strong relationship between SRS, SRNL and the University of South Carolina to bridge novel technologies developed at SRNL with South Carolina business opportunities; reached final closure status of the SRS M Area Operable Unit and three of the site’s former nuclear materials test and production reactors; and accelerated the disposal schedule and disposition of transuranic nuclear wastes stored at SRS.

In a letter to SRNS employees, Flowers stated, “Together, we faced and overcame substantial challenges. I am pleased to report, that today our company is stronger, more highly focused on meeting the needs of our customers, and on the right trajectory for achieving meaningful and sustainable mission growth at SRS.”

Wilson is a long-time Fluor executive having run one of the fast growing parts of the company – the Mining & Metals business line.

Wilson graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and has completed graduate courses at Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business Management and Thunderbird Graduate School of International Management.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions LLC is a Fluor-led partnership composed of Fluor, Newport News Nuclear and Honeywell, responsible for the management and operations of the SRS, SRNL.

So, who pays for "sustainable

So, who pays for "sustainable mission growth at SRS"? Until private backers are produced for expensive, speculative projects sounds like SRNS is still looking to big government to foot the tab. Not such a sound policy as government spending shrinks, is it?

It is my hope that Mr Wilson

It is my hope that Mr Wilson will partner with Ricardo Azziz, GHSU President & CEO and the new Commando at Ft Gordon to initiate a collaboration of Metro-Augusta's three giants that operate above the fray of local politics shackled by geographical and political limitations based on multiple boundaries including two states and many communities located in the Aiken- Augusta MSA.

The timing is right for such collaboration that would join together the Healtth-Science, Communicating and Energy leaders that would then include the many other science & educational resources to bond our total community without the handicap of bias smaller communities.Political, Economic Development & Community Leaders would be included but the strong bond at the top would assure success and SECURE THE FUTURE of Metro Augusta.

Yeah, Wilson will need Azziz's expertise to come up with a new name for the site.

Oh yeah, Azziz will also be able to help Wilson with public relations if Wilson wants to close Hwy. 125 running through the site.
