  • Follow Latest News

An intruder stole $100 worth of copper from a water heater at The House of the Lord Pentecostal Church on 10th Street sometime between Aug. 1 and Friday, according to a Richmond County sheriff's report.

A church member told police Sunday that someone had gained entry and removed the copper from the heater.

The waterline was also removed from under the structure, according to the report.

All windows and doors were secure when the theft was discovered.

I am sure there aren't that
Unpublished

I am sure there aren't that many places that buy copper in Augusta. Seems to me if RCSO wanted to catch these thieves. Better yet, how about registering every person who sells copper to the metal recyclers. Pawn shops do it all the time. They could require 3 forms of address verification. Electric bill, cell phone bill, and probation officer letter.

corgimom, that is EXACTLY the

corgimom, that is EXACTLY the reason we are in the shape we are in across the U.S.A. Up until the past 20 or so years, we had people out in public, in government, on our job, etc... calling upon the name of Jesus to help us out of our mess. Now all you hear are the same people calling upon man and his education or government to bail us out. Did you ever consider that we may be getting exactly what the Dr. ordered? In The Holy Bible in 2nd. Chronicles chapter 2 verse 14 GOD promises "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

End Prohibition #2, repeal

End Prohibition #2, repeal the MW business tax (Fed Minimum Wage), reduce business license requirements/fees and paperwork and you will end up with less crime and more businesses and higher employment. Course Big Brother government would lose some jobs, power and graft so it will not happen unless people get some backbone.

ke4pkb, I bet that church

ke4pkb, I bet that church that got robbed was the site of a lot of calling upon the name of Jesus.

I doubt that adding Deke and Pals to the mix is going to make much of a difference.

Since the thread went from

Since the thread went from copper thefts to the state of our nation and it's people. Neal Bortz, the conservative radio talk show host, said this morning that if we don't get out of debt as a nation and if our citizens don't get themselves completely out of debt that our nation will not survive. Prophetic and I agree!
