Flash flooding near Daniel Field caused some vehicles to stall late Sunday night, according to Richmond County dispatch reports cited by the National Weather Service in West Columbia, S.C.

The weather service passed along this information as it issued a flash flood warning for Richmond County at 10:44 p.m., which expired at 11:45 p.m.

At 10:33 p.m., Doppler radar indicated flash flooding from a thunderstorm that has produced 1.5 to 2 inches fo rainfall during the previous hour, the service said.

About 20 minutes earlier, the weather service had issued a small stream and urban flood advisory because of a nearly stationary cluster of thunderstorms that had gathered over Augusta.
